What is Dental Surgery?

This video explains in detail what dental surgery actually is. Dental surgery is an internationally recognized discipline in dentistry. Oral surgery deals with the correction of problems or damage to the mouth, teeth and jaw. It is also called oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMS), and encompasses both oral surgery and surgery on the structures of the face, sinuses and neck. In the course of specialization, dental surgery became oral surgery, a branch oral and maxillofacial surgery. Oral surgery is commonly performed to extract wisdom teeth, for tooth transplantation, bone augmentation, but also to remove cysts and tumors. Watch the video above to learn more about oral surgery!
