What age does Dental Fluorosis occur? – Dr. Aniruddha KB

Fluorosis can start off as early as maybe 15 to 30 months, very early age when the enamel formation takes place upto the age of 8, the enamel formation starts off, so this can be one of the reasons why there is fluorosis when there is tooth eruption, but also of you have systemic fluorosis, which starts off later Iife, then there could be certain discolouration on the tooth or there could be demineralisation like appearance on the tooth, which may simulate an appearance of amelogenesis imperfecta or which can look very frosty like a dental decay later in life. So specifically it is very hard to say that a patient will have fluorosis at this particular age, it can vary. There is a range, but also in other conditions like systemic fluorosis, dental fluorosis depends upon how the systemic condition if the patient is generally there.
